Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI)

RHI Tariffs set the rate for your Domestic Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) payments. People who join the scheme  receive quarterly payments over seven years. The rates are set by the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS), formerly known as the Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC)

Payments are index-linked, tax-free and guaranteed for 7 years.

The level of payments you can receive will depend on the amount of heat deemed to be required for your property and which is generated by your heat pump.
In March 2016, the Government published a consultation on changes to the Domestic Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) scheme. After taking into account the feedback it received, The Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy (BEIS) published its consultation response on 14 December 2016.

The below information shows the new improved payments that come into affect from 1st April 2017.

Air source heat pump – Payments currently: (p/kWh) 7.51 p

Air source heat pump – Uplifted Tariff (p/kWh) 10.02 p
