Herstmonceux Castle -Air Source Heat Pump

Queens University Canada.

Ecosphere Renewables were commissioned to install a Daikin Altherma air source heat pump to the Bursa’s accommodation due to poor heating, expensive bills and damp.  This followed on from a 50KWp solar PV installation to the castle.

We installed a 9KWp Daiki Altherma Split system to replace an inefficient and ageing oil boiler.

This included the complete strip out of the old heating system and replacement with new radiators with TRVs and a Daikin hot water tank in the loft.  We also installed a 4KWp solar PV system with solar controller to compliment the heat pump. Any excess electricity would automatically be used by the heat pump to pre-heat a buffer.

This is a terrific local initiative as Energy and Climate Minister, it gives me great pleasure to see such a bold green energy vision being brought to life in my own ‘back yard'.
